I have just heard that an Act passed
last Session of Assembly establishing District
Courts and that you were one of the Judges.
I therefore take the liberty of asking your
assistance in procuring the Appointment
of Clerk, to one those which will held on
the south side of James river. I was the
eldest of those who were so unfortunate as
to be in the Secretary's Office unprovided for,
when the revolution took place, after seven
Service: Mr Everard's Certificate of that, and
my being qualified for the business I have
taken care to preserve. I flatter myself
under these circumstances and being totally
destitute of any thing to support myself
and family I shall stand recommended
to your notice.
